A tragic two-vehicle crash on US-19 on Sunday night led to the death of a 68-year-old man and the arrest of a 37-year-old woman on charges of DUI Manslaughter. The incident occurred around 8:06 PM on September 7, 2025.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the collision involved a Buick Verano driven by Ashley Silver Marshall, 37, of Brooksville, and a Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by a 67-year-old Hudson woman. Both vehicles were traveling northbound on US-19, with the PT Cruiser ahead of the Verano.
North of Bolton Avenue, the Verano, driven by Marshall, reportedly overtook and collided with the rear of the PT Cruiser. The impact sent both vehicles off the roadway with devastating results. The Verano struck a fence and three boats located at a business at 15506 US-19.
The PT Cruiser, carrying a 68-year-old male passenger, had a more chaotic trajectory. After leaving the road, it first struck a light pole and then a culvert. The vehicle then became airborne, collided with a utility pole, and finally came to a stop after striking a cable box.
The passenger in the PT Cruiser was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Both drivers were also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
FHP troopers at the scene determined that Ashley Silver Marshall was impaired.
A subsequent breathalyzer test revealed her blood alcohol content (BAC) to be 0.240, three times the legal limit of 0.08. She was arrested and transported to the Pasco County Jail, where she faces charges of DUI Manslaughter.
