LARGO, Fla. – The aftermath of Saturday afternoon’s tragic two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Orangeview Drive and Ridge Road has claimed another life.
Largo Police confirmed today that 78-year-old Gail Price, the driver of the Kia Soul, died from injuries she sustained in the crash. Her next of kin has been notified.
This latest development brings the total number of fatalities to three. Previously identified victims, 10-year-old Jabari Elijah Solomon and 4-year-old Charlie Herbert Solomon Riveria, who were passengers in the Kia Soul, tragically died at the scene.
Herbert Rivera, 58, the adult front passenger in the Kia Soul, remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle involved, a Dodge Durango, has been identified as 20-year-old Adarius Hayes. Authorities confirmed that Hayes, who is also a linebacker for the Miami Hurricanes, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Largo Police stated that initial assessments found no signs of impairment with either driver.
The Largo Police Traffic Homicide Unit is actively investigating the circumstances leading up to the 1:45 p.m. collision. Detectives are focusing on determining the cause of the crash, including the speed of the southbound Durango and the Kia Soul, which reportedly made a left turn at the intersection.
At this time, no criminal charges have been filed as the investigation remains ongoing.
