What happens when an Uber or Lyft driver causes a car accident. So in that scenario, you are in a motor vehicle accident, motorcycle accident, and an Uber or Lyft driver causes the accident. Who was at fault? Well, if the at fault drivers, Uber or Lyft, you look to the Uber or Lyft driver's insurance policy. And the interesting thing is there's generally an underlying policy that is required to be had by the driver of that Uber, Lyft. And then on top of that, you have the Uber and Lyft policies. And so that's something that needs to be looked for and discovered when we are looking at a case and finding insurance coverage to help our clients after an automobile accident, um, and help dealing with their injuries.
So it's very important when we're talking to these insurance companies and they're providing their affidavits of coverage, we want to make sure that we checked the box to determine whether or not the at fault vehicle was either a actively engaged in providing a rideshare service or be on their way to pick up a ride. Because in that scenario, the Uber or Lyft insurance would also kick in. And so it's important during the investigation period, after a car accident, a motorcycle accident, that that these insurance coverages are fully investigated.
