This video will address, where do I get treatment after a car accident. So in the personal injury arena, this is unlike, uh, the type of injury accident or the type of injury treatment that you may have experienced in the past. So car accidents are a totally different beast than, for example, uh, you cut yourself, um, uh, preparing dinner one evening and had to go to the emergency room. And the reason why they are different is that the car insurance companies have put up so many hurdles and have made it so difficult for medical providers to submit their bills, that only specialists in personal injury are likely to be able to help you treat for your injuries. So let's start at the beginning after the car accident. If you believe you need immediate urgent medical care, go to the hospital. Don't air on the side of, Oh, I think it'll get better, or I'm not that badly hurt.

Go to the hospital if you have any question. If you don't think the accident is severe to severe enough to the point that you need to go to the hospital, then go to an urgent care to get checked out and called the urgent care in advance and let them know that you have been in an auto accident or a car accident and are on your way in. Because some urgent care centers will not take car accident cases. And that leads me to my next point. Your family doctor, your general practitioner, uh, whoever you see on a regular basis likely will not take, uh, your treatment for your car accident claim. And again, the reason is those doctors are not normally set up, they're not equipped to handle the complexities of car accident claims and bills submissions. So don't even think about going to your primary care if you're going to need to research somebody that is familiar and handles car accident cases on a regular basis.
So who are those doctors? You can, again, you can defer to a car accident lawyer that can refer you to someone or you can do your online research. And I have found the chiropractors actually are a great source of, uh, of knowledge in this topic. If you know a chiropractor, if you've seen a chiropractor in the past, they likely will know the appropriate doctors to send you to. And those doctors could be a neurologist, could be an orthopedic surgeon, a any other type of doctor that is a specialist in auto accidents that, uh, that is available to treat those specific injuries. But like I said, chiropractors are a really good source of knowledge because they handle a lot of car accident cases because quite frankly, most car accident injuries are soft tissue in nature and involve damage to the spine. So chiropractors that quite a bit and they know the other doctors to refer out and who to work with and who's reputable and who's good with their billing practices. So if you've been involved in a car accident, uh, hopefully you can utilize this video and those resources to get yourself involved with somebody who is a specialist in car accident injuries because quite frankly, that's who you need to treat with. Uh, if you have any questions regarding this video subject matter of a car accident in Pinellas county or in the Tampa Bay area, please feel free to call our office.
