TAMPA, Fla. — A 53-year-old Tampa woman died Tuesday from injuries suffered after being struck by a vehicle while trying to cross US-41 on Monday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident happened at approximately 9:30 p.m. on August 17 near West 122nd Avenue.
Troopers reported that a Lexus sedan, operated by a 37-year-old man from Dade City, was heading southbound along US-41. As the vehicle approached the intersection area, the pedestrian entered the highway and walked directly into the car’s path.
The vehicle struck the woman, causing severe injuries. Emergency responders transported her to a nearby hospital for treatment, but she died from her injuries the following day, on Tuesday.
Authorities have not released the names of the driver or the pedestrian. The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
